DESCRIPTION:The San Diego Police Department and the family of Officer Jonathan “JD” DeGuzman\, 43\, have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor him by forming a Flag Line of Honor at the cemetery\, we would be honored to do so. \nOfficer DeGuzman was killed in the line of duty in San Diego while serving his community as a police officer. \nOfficer DeGuzman was a dedicated police officer\, having served 16 years with the department\, he was a Gang Enforcement Officer.  He had previously been wounded while on duty and was recipient of the department’s Purple Heart award. \nHe is described by his fellow officers and superiors as an outstanding officer and individual who was always talking about his family when not on duty. \nThe PGR is aware that our Law Enforcement officers are our front line on the home front\, keeping us safe by risking their lives every day.  We respect and appreciate that commitment\, we thank and honor them. \nOfficer DeGuzman is survived by his wife and two children. \nThe SDPD has asked the PGR to form a Flag Line of Honor at the gate of the cemetery as the procession enters the gate\, after which we will be dismissed. \nIt is expected to be warm\, please hydrate the day before and day of the mission.  Do not forget to eat as it will help you withstand the heat. \nNOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Law Enforcement Hero. If you wish to participate\, and all are welcome\, please follow instructions in time table below. Restrooms and drinks/food are available at this location. Due to the expect large crowds for this funeral we will not be able to park at the cemetery. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.
