ABOUT THE MISSION:
We will stand and show honor and respect for one of our Nation’s hero’s from the Korean War. SrA Odell Greenleaf Harris, Jr. was drafted into the United States military and served in the Air force for four years including a tour of duty in the Korean War. After his military service, he completed his undergraduate studies majoring in elementary education at Elizabeth City State Teachers College, receiving a master’s degree in education from East Carolina University.He helped to integrate the Elizabeth City Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter. He was the last surviving member of the Hook and Ladder African American volunteer fire company.

Special Instructions:
We will stage and brief at the funeral home and then a small group of riders will proceed to meet the family and escort them back to the Church. A flag Line will be set to welcome and honor the family. We will hold the flag line during his Celebration of Life. Upon conclusion, we will mount up and escort Senior Airman Harris to the Westlawn Cemetery where he will be laid to Eternal Rest. Military Honors will be performed, and we will Present the appropriate Honors.
