Honor Mission
Norman R. Forsyth, Retired
United States Air Force – Vietnam
Fort Walton Beach, Florida  10-24-21


The Patriot Guard will be honored to escort Technical Sergeant Norman R. Forsyth to his final resting place at Beal Memorial Cemetery and stand Flag Line in his honor. TSgt Forsyth was an Aircraft Maintenance Crew Chief, who honorably served in the United States Air Force for over twenty years and was honorably retired from active service on 30 November 1972. He received the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal w/Two Oak Leaf Clusters, Vietnam Service Medal w/Two Bronze Service Stars, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon w/Four Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Norman Forsyth was born on 17 August 1933 in Detroit, Michigan and passed away on 17 October 2021 at the age of 88 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Special Instructions:

Flag Support will be provided by Paul Hurt.
Due to a recent increase in COVID-19 infections, partial or non-vaccinated members are required to wear face coverings while outdoors and all members are required to wear a mask while indoors at funeral homes, churches, etc. Due to breakthrough infections to fully vaccinated individuals, maintain a 6-foot social distance both outdoors and indoors. Fully vaccinated members need not wear face coverings while outdoors.Patriot Guard recommends long sleeve shirts, long trousers, long fingered gloves, DOT approved helmets, leather footwear covering the ankles and appropriate eye protection.

    Please accept my sincere condolences.

    It is my honor and privilege to stand with families of and for those who dared stand where many feared to tread. Your loss is immeasurable but it will mark again the strength and fortitude of the families and friends who raised and supported our heroes, our disciplined, our courageous, among whom you are included and so often overlooked, even abandoned.
    Thank you for your fortitude and sacrifices. We are thusly forever bonded.
