ABOUT THE MISSION:
The Patriot Guard Riders are privileged to be invited by Nebraska Law Enforcement Memorial Committee to participate in the Ceremonial Service at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Memorial in Grand Island, Nebraska on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 10 am.
The service will be held at the Grand Island Fire Department, Station #1, 409 East Fonner Park Road, Grand Island, Nebraska. Refreshments and social time will be held just prior to the event. The actual Memorial Site is just off South Locust Street in Grand Island at the Fonner Park entrance.
Patriot Guard Rider Nebraska State Chaplain Gary Smith serves on the Nebraska Law Enforcement Memorial Committee and will be participating in the program.
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a law authorizing Peace Officer’s Memorial Day. In 1994, President Clinton authorized United States Flags to be flown at half- staff in honor of National Peace Officers Memorial Day, reminding all citizens of the sacrifices Law Enforcement Officers have made in keeping them safe.
The Patriot Guard Riders in Nebraska proudly enjoy an excellent mutual support relationship with all Law Enforcement agencies through-out the entire state.
