The family of MSgt. John Williams Langley (Sonny), a 27 year US Air Force Veteran, has requested The Patriot Guard Riders to stand honors at his Memorial Service on Sunday 14 August 2016, followed by an escort to his final resting place. John William Langley, born Aug 6, 1930, 85 of The Villages, Florida, passed away June 14, 2016. He was born in Lando, South Carolina. He is survived by his wife, a loving family, and friends.
MSgt. Langley enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1947. He was an Airport Control Operator and later an Air Operations Superintendent. During his career, he was deployed to various areas of WWII to perform clean-up operations; served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired in June of 1981, and wore his many medals to various veteran functions.
Mr. Langley worked another sixteen years for the United States Postal Service. He enjoyed golf and was an avid bowler and proudly wore his 300 game ring.
Our brother continues to serve mankind as he directed that his body be donated to science in order to help others.

Assemble at 1300 hrs. (1:00 PM)
Briefing at 1315 hrs. (1:15 PM)
Establish & stand flag line 1330 hrs. (1:30 PM)
Stand down when Memorial Service starts at 1400 hrs. (2:00 PM)
Upon conclusion of the funeral service, (approx. 1500 hrs. (3:00 PM) we will render Honors & prepare to escort MSgt. Langley and the family to Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, SC. This will be a 20-mile ride at 35MPH flying big flags.
At the cemetery, we will establish a flag line, and Rock Hill VFW Post 2889 will provide military graveside honors.
Flags and water will be provided at both places.
