MSgt George “ZZ” Armstrong, 74

It is with a heavy heart and much sorrow, that the PGR was notified of the loss of one of our own. Not only was MSgt George “ZZ” Armstrong a fellow PGR, he was our friend.

The family of PGR Ride Captain / MSgt George “ZZ” Samuel Armstrong has graciously requested the Patriot Guard Rider’s presence as they show their final respects, escort and lay their loved one to rest.

MSgt Armstrong faithfully served our Grateful Nation in the U.S. Air Force for 20 + years and performed duties as a Medical Service Technician (Flying / Aeromedical)

During MSgt Armstrong’s service to our Country, he served two tours in Vietnam, where he medically treated countless ground troops and downed Airmen during a time of war.

Upon completion of his military service, MSgt Armstrong received an Honorable Discharge and awarded an Air Medal, Airman Medal, Combat Readiness Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon w/ four Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award w/ two Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal w/ five Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award w/ “V” Device, Vietnam Service Medal w/ one Bronze Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/ Palm, and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ one Oak Leaf Cluster.

During MSgt Armstrong’s post military service, he was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders and served in a leadership position as a Ride Captain. MSgt Armstrong stood countless Flag Lines with the PGR to show his unwavering Honor and Respect to fallen Brothers, Sisters and their grieving families. George “ZZ” Armstrong faithfully stood with the PGR until it was time for the PGR to stand for him.

Please bring your 3 X 5 American Flags and join us as we stand in silent Honor and Respect for our fellow Patriot Guard Rider / U.S. Air Force Vietnam Hero and his family.

Note: This is a two-part mission.

Part 1 is a Funeral Service at the Funeral Home in Brooksville, FL., followed by an LEO assisted escort (approximately 20 miles) to Bushnell.

Part 2 is a Committal Service at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.

Flag Bikes are strongly encouraged for this LEO assisted escort.
