DoD Identifies Marine Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Pfc. Sean T. Cardelli, 20, of Downers Grove, Ill., died Feb. 1 from enemy small arms fire while conducting combat operations near Fallujah, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, his unit was attached to 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).

Staging area will be at Dunkin Donuts 150 E. Ogden Hinsdale Il ph 630-325-9191. Stage between 7:30am – 8:00am. Time for a Hot cup of coffee if you get there early enough. Riders meeting to take place at 8:00am….kickstands up 8:15….short ride less than 1 mile to the funeral Home, Gibdons Elliston….60 S. Grant St. Hinsdale Il ph 630-323-0275. We should be in place, and motors off NLT 8:30am. A short prayer service will take place beginning 9:00am, and Procession to cemetery approx 9:30 am.
We have been asked to ride in the procession to the place of Final Internment. The ride should be approx 8 miles to Mt. Auburn Memorial Cemetery 4101 S. Oakpark ….Stickney Il ph 708-749-0022…
If you do not plan on staying for the Grave side services, please peel off from the procession before entering the Cemetery. We will be riding in the back of the procession so this should be easy to do.
If your planning on 2 wheels, please check the weather prior to heading out. Light snow showers are forecasted at this time, however, as of now, they are scheduled for later in the day. I’d rather have you there safely on 4, then chance 2 if your not sure.
Don’t forget flags if you have them…..I will have my cell phone on, 847-217-1862, however if I’m on 2 wheels I may not be able to answer immediately.
