ABOUT THE MISSION:

Military Appreciation Day at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia will be August 11th.  This event is to recognize and support our military and veterans for their service.  The event will be inside the Mathewson Exhibition Center again this year and will be scheduled on the weekend to provide more comfort and accessibility for attendees.  This will also be the 10th consecutive year of the Military Appreciation Day at the State Fair.

Special Instructions:

KSU at 1:00 pm for escort through the fairgrounds to the Exhibition Center.  We will be parked inside BY 1:30 pm and there will be a video presentation prior to the start of the ceremony at 2:00 pm.  The surface will be hard rolled dirt and the Fair Administration will provide some wood blocks for kickstand support.  Please bring your own if possible.  Kansas City metro folks, if we’d like to ride in as a group, staging will be at 100 SE Crestwood St in Lee’s Summit, two convenience stores/gas stations in sight and plenty of shade.  Distance from Lee’s Summit to Sedalia is 60 miles, and we will meet up with members from Warrensburg at American Legion Post 131.  KSU from Lee’s Summit, NLT 10:15 am.  KSU from Post 131 NLT 11:15 am.  After the event, the State Fair Admin welcomes you to remain and visit the fair.  The current information is that we will be able to park in the adjacent parking lot after the event again this year.  We need to get a general idea as to member interest to participate to help plan the event and spacing.  If you intend to participate and if you will have a passenger please email to Whirlwind at whr2nd@me.com.  Please follow this thread and recheck it NLT the day prior.  As we all know, things can change.  We want to ensure we get all of the correct information to you.

If you have large bike flags, please bring them.
Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.
