DESCRIPTION:Milford “Mel” Frank Naseman\nUnited States Marine Corps\nWWII Veteran\nMember of the Greatest Generation\n\n\n\nThe family of Milford Frank Naseman has requested the Presence of the Arizona Patriot Guard Riders to Honor and Escort their Hero to his final resting place in Lansing Michigan. \nMel Naseman Joined the United States Marine Corps after graduating High School. Mel was a member of the 3rd Marine Division and participated in action across the Pacific Theatre\, He was member of an elite USMC unit called  “Marine Raiders”. The Marine Raiders were elite units established by the United States Marine Corps during World War II to conduct special amphibious light infantry warfare\, particularly in landing in rubber boats and operating behind the lines. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant and received many decorations for his valor including the Silver Star\, two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He belonged to the Third Marine Division Association\, Marine Raider Association\, Purple Heart Society\, Old Breed Detachment\, Marine Corps League\, VFW\, American Legion and Az Semper Fi Vets. He helped found the Marine Corps League in Petoskey\, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his loving wife\, Harriet. He is survived by his two sons and his loving niece and “adopted daughter”. Memorial Services and Family Reunion well be held in Lansing\, Michigan July 16\, 2016. Mel Naseman was truly a member of The Greatest Generation. \nPlease note: There are several AZ PGR members that will escort Mel to his final resting place in Lansing\, Michigan. The Michigan PGR will meet our members at the Michigan State line and will assist in the escort to Mel’s final resting place.
