Mike Fuemmeler, Retired, Veteran

Glasgow, Missouri – 06-15-19
ABOUT THE MISSION:
Glasgow resident, Mike Fuemmeler, 45, passed away suddenly June 8, 2019 as the result of a motorcycle accident outside Armstrong, MO. Micheal John “Mike” Fuemmeler. Mike started his honorable and successful career in the military by enlisting in the United States Air Force. Mike reenlisted with the U.S. Army, completed Airborne training, pursued and accomplished his dream of becoming an Army Ranger. Staff Sergeant Fuemmeler’s primary job was serving as a healthcare specialist. He earned the rank of Senior Medic, overseeing numerous trauma centers and healthcare stations in Iraq and Afghanistan, valiantly doing his duty for the global war on terrorism. In one instance, Mike’s platoon experienced heavy casualties. He was hand selected to take charge of a trauma section that was experiencing low morale and performance. Mike’s leadership, supervision and training capabilities made the section fully mission capable and ready to provide quality medical care to the battalion. As a result, Mike was awarded the Bronze Star for his exceptionally meritorious service to his country. Throughout his military career, Mike was awarded numerous other decorations and medals including a second Bronze Star with his Kosovo Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal, to name a few. Mike’s service and love for his country was second to none and it was something he was always proud of. After nearly 18 years of service, Mike was honorably discharged and retired from the military in 2015.

My wife and I wish to extend our condolences on your loss.
We stand with feet planted firmly on rich soil knowing what freedom is. Because of our veterans, I am free to honor God and country without persecution. Where there is injustice, I am free to fight. Where there is silence, I am free to speak. Where there is hate, I am free to love.
Your love one’s watch is over, may they rest peacefully in the arms of God.
