ABOUT THE MISSION:
The Patriot Guard Riders were asked to remember the life of Mike “The Mayor” Thornton and we are honored to do so. The Mayor served in the US. Army for seven years that included a tour in Vietnam as a Door Gunner. After this tour, The Mayor served in the Panama Canal Zone. While with the US. Army, The Mayor earned numerous awards including the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Cluster, and many other awards. After leaving the Army, The Mayor continued to serve with the Department of Defense as an Aircraft Mechanic. The Mayor was an avid motorcycle rider and was a member the Combat Veteran’s Motorcycle Association and rode with the Patriot Guard Riders.

Please do not block any driveways at the staging location. We will meet near the Thornton residence at 11:30 am, with a briefing at 12:00 pm. KSU at 12:30 pm, proceeding to Kings Ferry Park and boat ramp on south HWY 17, in Chatham County.
There will be a brief memorial service, then a Celebration of Life.

If you have large bike flags, please bring them.
Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.
