ABOUT THE MISSION:
Michael Lee Ivins was a United States Marine Corp veteran. He proudly served his country in the US Marine Corp from 1969 to 1976. Mike was trained as a turbine engine technician and collateral duty inspector. Later as a Sergeant E-5 he was the section leader responsible for 5 of the CH46F helicopters along with their flight and maintenance crews. He served as a crew chief for 4 years on the CH46D/F in Vietnam era and flew many missions. Mike was released from active duty and honorably discharged on temporary disability list January 1976.While in the service of his country Michael Lee Ivins earned the Meritorious Mast USMC, Expert Badge Pistol, Marksmanship Rifle, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon .
