ABOUT THE MISSION:
Michael Lee Kinas, 72 of Gilman passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021. Due to COVID, his service has been delayed. He will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery. A celebration of life is now planned and his family has asked that we escort them to his Celebration of Life before they take him to Arlington. Mike was born Dec. 6, 1948 in Milwaukee. Michael was the son of the late Joseph and Vernice Kinas. Mike grew up in California and the Hannibal area. At 17 he joined the Navy. During his 23 years of service, he was awarded Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He served on board the USS Virgo and the USS Navasota. He retired as a Master Chief Builder (Seabee’s). After he moved to Wisconsin, Mike was a volunteer firefighter for the Village of Gilman and an EMT for Taylor County until the time of his retirement.
