DESCRIPTION:Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders\, we have been requested to stand for US Army Veteran\, Michael J. Schwahn\, age 87.  Michael was born in Dodge\, North Dakota and was the fourth of ten children. The family eventually settled in Oregon City\, where he lived the rest of his life. He enlisted in the Army AUG 1948 and served in the Korean War.  Upon his discharge in DEC 1949\, he joined the Reserves and served until NOV 1951. Michael was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal Japan. He worked at Publisher’s Paper Mill in Oregon City for 36 years\, retiring at the age of 55.
