ABOUT THE MISSION:

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders, we have been invited to stand for Merle Monty Penwell, age 92. Merle served in the US Navy from 4 January 1944 to 14 September 1947 as an Aviation Machinist Mate 3rd Class in Naval Air Transport Service Transport Squadron 1 (VR-1). He served in places like Noumea, New Caledonia, Hawaii and Guam. Merle earned the American Theater Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal, a Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. Please join us as we pay our respects and honor his service to our nation.
