Devin was raised in Clovis, NM and joined the Army 27 Apr 1999 as an infantryman.

He served three tours to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. March 2003 to March 2004, November 2005 – November 2006 and June 2008 – June 2009.

SSG Schuette’s distinguished awards and decorations include five Army Commendation Medals, One Army Achievement Meal, Five Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with campaign stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, two Non-commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, Army Service Ribbon, four Overseas Service Ribbons, Combat Infantry Badge and the Parachutist Badge with Distinguished Service-Bronze Service Star and Parachutist Badge.

The family of Staff Sergeant Devin Schuette has requested the presence and participation of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Funeral Service and Interment of their Loved One.

Devin passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 on Fort Hood. His service with the United States Army began on April 27, 1999. He was a devoted husband and father and loved hiking, biking, fishing and many other outdoor activities. He and his family have been at Ft Hood since 2013 coming from Ft Huachuca, AZ. Devin was preceded in death by his father in 2009 and by five unborn children. Setup & Briefing
: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the family.

WX: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 65. South wind 5 to 15 mph.

Notes:
1: Be at stagingS ON TIME.
2: Hydrate well prior, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.
