The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Sgt. James Harold Taylor, US Army, to honor their loved one who passed away at his home in Mt. Olive, Il. on April 28, 2016, at the age of 67 years.
Hero Taylor served his country honorably on active and reserve duty from Sept. 1969 – 1991 both in Vietnam and Desert Storm receiving a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts, among other medals. He was a lifetime member of the D. A. V.
His wife, Alice Taylor, a daughter and son, five grandchildren, a brother, sister and many nieces and nephews, survives him.
Hero Taylor lived in Springfield for many years before retiring in Illinois and his Inurnment was held on May 3, 2016, at Jefferson Barracks with plans for this memorial service in Springfield for family and friends.
