DESCRIPTION:HOTH Mission\nMemorial Service Police K-9 Officer Maverick\nSouth Lyon\, Michigan – 07-20-19\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nThe Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in Honor of Police K-9 Officer Maverick\, Badge #74\, 10/03/06 – 01/29/19. K-9 Officer Maverick – 11 years of age\, provided 10 years of service to the Redford Twp. Police Department. K-9 Maverick\, the most popular K-9 officer in the Redford Township Police Department\, retired from police work in early October 2018.  In fact\, the first week of October of 2018 was pretty busy for him.  He celebrated 10 years of service to Redford Township Police Department on October 1st\, turned 11 years old on the 3rd\, and officially retired after the Thurston High School Homecoming game against Redford Union on October 6th.  K-9 Officer Maverick put his life on the line to protect Officers and others.  K-9 Maverick had over 1500 documented canine uses in his 10 year career\, including finding suspects\, sniffing out narcotics\, assisting neighboring communities and protecting his partner\, Officer Sgt.
