ROSE FESTIVAL DANNER MEMORIAL DAY OBSERVANCE, May 28, 2012

There will be a Commemoration Ceremony honoring those who have given their lives in the service of our country. We’ll be parking around the Salmon St. Fountain once again and setting up a flag line around the ceremony area. There will also be a song performed by The Conchords Chorale. It’s from a poem by the wife of PGR, OVMA and VFW member Roy Duval set to music.

The Memorial Day Ceremony begins at 2:15 pm
The fountain is in Tom McCall Waterfront Park on SW Naito Parkway at SW Salmon St.

RIDE CAPTAIN: Nick “Cabbie” Kinler moseby@comcast.net

Also, once again we’ve been invited to participate in the Rose Festival Danner Memorial Day March which precedes the above ceremony. This is the official kick off to Rose Festival. The parade is a short one so you won’t have to duck walk your bikes for long. This will be the fourth year we’ve participated in this parade and they are very much looking forward to our presence.

STAGING: Parking lot on the southwest corner of NE 9th and Couch

STAGING TIME: 12:00 Noon

RIDE BRIEF: 12:30 PM

KSU: 12:40 PM

If you are late for the PGR staging, come to the parade staging area by 1:00 PM. It’s on Naito Parkway under the Burnside Bridge. Go westbound across the Burnside Bridge. Take the first right on NW 2nd Ave. Take the next right on NW Couch Ave. Two blocks to Naito Parkway. Turn right and look for the bikes. Don’t confuse NW Couch with NE Couch the PGR staging area.

Oregon State Co-Captain
