Bronze Cross Memorial Unveiling Ceremony, May 14, 2016, Joint Base Ft. Eustis/Langley, Va.

The Virginia Patriot Guard has been invited to Stand and Honor those that have paid the Ultimate Sacrifice in the War Against Terror.

The Commanding Officer of 633rd Air Wing has cordially invited us to Stand for the Unveiling Ceremony of the Bronze Cross Memorial at Joint Base Langely-Eustis.

This Memorial is a dedication to all those who paid the Ultimate Price in the Defense of our Values and Freedoms. In attendance will be Gold Star Families. Join us as we again Stand in their Honor.

Mission Details: This Mission will be an honor mission with a flag line onboard Joint Base Ft. Eustis.

Bring your 3X5 flags to do an Honor Flag Line. Extra 3 X 5 Flags will be available.

Appropriate contacts have been made and this mission is a GO.

Mission Date : Saturday May 14, 2016
Staging Location and Time: Main Gate Badge and Pass Office Parking Lot, Ft. Eustis, Va.
PGR members wishing to attend should arrive NLT 0845.
Mission brief at 0900 and KSU at 0915 sharp, for a short transit onto the Base.

Because we will be going on a military installation, the following clothing will be required: Helmet; glasses or goggles, windshield or full face helmet (no windshield), full fingered gloves / full length sleeved shirt or jacket / ankle high boots (no sneakers of sandals) and have some sort of picture ID ready for viewing. No weapons allowed onboard the military installation.

RiCE: Open to all candidates

This will be a Flag Line Honor Mission without an Escort. We will have a short transit from the Staging Area to the Dedication Area on Base. Ensure all flag mounts are capable of highway speeds.
Flag Ettiquette: Proper Flag procedures will be adhered to at all times.

SPECIAL NOTE: Safety is of our utmost priority, Every effort possible in planning and executing the PGR MISSION Statement in a manner that minimizes the inherit dangers of riding a motorcycle, including riding in groups of all sizes and any situation. While the PGR and its riders have a remarkable safety record in the execution of our missions, infrequently members have been injured in unforeseen accidents. In an effort to mitigate the risk of preventable accidents, all attendees who wish to ride in a Patriot Guard motorcycle escort or ride are asked to attend the pre-mission briefing. It will include a safety briefing and any unique ride information known to our RC that may be specific to the mission. Member safety and well- being is always a principal ongoing concern. Our RC’s are asked to stand down from any mission that cannot be accomplished in relative safety or unreasonable risk. This includes both rides and flag lines in inclement weather and conditions. It remains each individual PGR member’s responsibility to ride within their own comfort zone and be cognizant of their surroundings and skill limitations as well as any physical needs or limitations as well as any physical needs or limitations. If the ride and/or mission conditions present challenges beyond your skill, comfort, or needs you are expected to exercise good judgment in foregoing any planned participation.
