Rosamond Johnson Memorial Ceremony, Perdido Key, FL

Fellow PGR Members:
We have been invited by the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce to participate in the Annual Rosamond Johnson memorial ceremony. It takes place at Johnson Beach, Perdido Key, FL on Sat. May 7th starting at 1000 hrs.
Rosamond Johnson enlisted in the Army at only 15, Johnson died in combat at age 17. Johnson rescued two injured soldiers and brought them to safety before he was fatally wounded while returning for a third comrade. He was the first Escambia County resident to die in the Korean War. Johnson posthumously received the Purple Heart on August 21, 1950. We would be honored to honor Rosamond Johnson in a parade flying our flags and then participate in the opening ceremony (pledge of allegiance or National Anthem).
