National POW-MIA Recognition Day at the Jefferson Barracks POW-MIA Museum

The Patriot Guard Riders have been honored with an invitation to participate in the POW-MIA Recognition Day Ceremony on 16 September 2016.

Special guest speaker will be Rocky Sickmann, one of the Marine guards held hostage when the Iranians took over our embassy in Tehran.

The Museum will also be hosting the deactivation ceremony (“Final Salute”) for the Missouri Department of American Ex-Prisoners of War. Those former POW’s from that organization able to be in attendance will be there. Col. John Clark, who was shot down over North Vietnam and a POW for 6 years, will be there.

There will also be an official unveiling of the Memorial Brick area in front of the museum.

Right around the corner from the Missouri Civil War Museum and just across the parade grounds from the National Guard facility.
Restoration and renovating of the building is still in process, so the ceremony will be taking place on the grounds just East of the Museum.

The ceremony is expected to conclude at 1130-1145…We will be standing a flag line for at least a couple of hours…Please come hydrated and take breaks as needed…Here is a part of the invitation from the museum: “If you guys can make it, we would be honored. We would especially be honored with your participation in the Final Salute for the Missouri Department of American Ex-Prisoners of War.”
