The Patriot Guard Riders will honor this hero by standing a flag line during the service recounting his accomplishments, After we complete the cemetery honors the PGR has been invited to participate in the procession to the Chestertown town center for a short veteran recognition ceremony.

I will be hosting a preliminary rally point at the 7-Eleven at the corner of MD 50 and MD 213 at Wye Mills, MD. We will leave this point and proceed on MD 213 to the final rally point at the 7-Eleven at 212 S. Maple AVE, Chestertown, MD. Anyone wishing to fall in line on the way will be welcome to do so. This distance is approximately 22 miles.

From the final rally point at the 7-Eleven at 212 South Maple Avenue, Chestertown, MD (the corner of Maple Ave and MD 213), we will all ride to St. Paul’s Episcopal Cemetery, 7579 Sandy Bottom Rd. Chestertown, MD 21620 and set the flag line. This distance is approximately 10 miles.

The procession following the cemetery ceremony is completely voluntary. Those who do not wish to participate in it may leave following the cemetery honors. We will travel from the cemetery directly to the assembly point at 100 Dixon Rd. Chestertown, MD (Approximately 6 miles). The procession itself is only about 1 mile long. We are welcome to participate in the short ceremony at the processions end point.

This event is open to all who wish to honor our veterans and those who sacrificed for our country. Come on iron horses or in cages – all will be welcome. 3′ x 5′ flags will be needed for the flag line at the cemetery. If you are going to participate in the procession – safely mounted large flags are welcome, or decorate your iron steed anyway you wish – as long as it’s safe.

Food and gas are available at, or near, both rally points.

This event will be conducted on Memorial Day Monday 26 May, 2014. Rain or shine. Weather is forecasted to be in the upper 80’s . Watch for local weather updates as it is very changeable this time of year. Please bring drinks to stay hydrated and dress appropriately. We will be standing in direct sunlight for most of this ceremony and heat can be an issue for those not accustomed to it.

There will be a very limited number of extra flags available. Bring 3×5 handheld flags on poles for the Flag Line.
