Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis

The family of Melvin Lovejoy has invited the Patriot Guard to stand a flag line in honor of his life and service to our country.

Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Melvin “Doc” Lovejoy passed away on Sept 19, 2016. He was awarded the Bronze Star with V device for Valor and the Purple Heart during his second tour in Vietnam. Melvin was attached to a US Marine Corps Infantry unit and participated in numerous sorties. The date of his interment at FSNC is also his birthday and wedding anniversary.

Please come out and stand in silent tribute to Honor Melvin’s life and service to our country.

11:30 am – Stage Lane A (along fence on 34th Ave S) at Ft Snelling National Cemetery
12:00 pm – Brief
12:30 pm- Interment
Estimated release: 2:00 pm
Dismissal at RCIC’s discretion.
