ABOUT THE MISSION:
Maxine Scott was born November 9, 1921. Truly a member of the “Greatest Generation” with her proud accomplishments thru the years. Maxine was committed to service to her nursing profession and her country. After graduation from high school in 1939 she enrolled in the Citizens General Hospital of Nursing. She spent two and a half years there before finishing the last six months of her education in the Navy Nurse Cadet Corp Program.
She the entered the US Army Nurse Corp as a Second Lieutenant and spent her service time in Fort Ord, California.
She married her husband, who was a Marine that was injured at Iwo Jima. After the war, she spent her lifetime as a dedicated nurse retiring in 1979.
They moved to Carolina Beach and became Charter members of the Carolina Beach, American Legion Troop 129. She was a dedicated and loving servant to the Lord, her country and her family. She is survived by three children, three granddaughters and many great grandchildren.
