DESCRIPTION:Honor Mission\nMark J. Authier\, Veteran\nUSAF\nSanford\, Michigan – 05-15-21\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nThe family of Mr. Mark J. Authier has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to stand a silent flag line in honor of his service to our country. Mr. Authier served in the United States Air Force attaining the rank of Sgt (E-4). Mark served from 1967 thru 1970 and was awarded the National Defense Medal and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal. Upon his Honorable Discharge Mark served his community in many ways. Mark served on the Meridian Public School Board\, coached and supported the Sanford area Little League. He was a lifelong disc jockey and played the drums for Stevie Wonder. Mr. Authier was the Post Commander for American Legion Post 443 bringing new ideas and life to the organization. Mark is survived by his wife\, five children and many extended family. Please join us to stand our flag line in this time of grief\n\n\nPRIMARY STAGING DETAILS: 05-15-21 \nStaging Time: 9:30am  \nAmerican Legion Post\n4432080 North Meridian Road\nSanford\, Michigan 48657\n\n\nRide Captain: \nJohn Mulvaney\, 989-295-4419\n\n\nSpecial Instructions: \nBrief: 10:00 AM\nKSU: 10:10 AM sharp\nF/L: 10:15 AM to 11:00 AM (Time of service)\nThere will be two components on this mission\, the PGR Flag Line and an escort coordinated by the Legion Riders. All are invited to join the escort if they wish. Both the flag line and the escort staging area is at the post address noted above. Be advised mask and current distance protocols for COVID are in effect. Please be courteous to those that may be vulnerable. The flag line will be located at the East end of the parking lot. We will render Honor’s upon the escort arrival and Mr. Authier’s transfer to the service location. See the Ride Captain for details. There will be a meet and greet after the service that all are invited to attend.Please bring your 3′ X 5′ American Flags to stand for Mark. Those riding the escort will leave the Post as a group\, relocating near the family home\, and then escorting the family returning to the post. The escort route is along suburban roads\, about a 15 minute ride.
