Mark F. Kiraly, Active Duty

The PGR has been asked to stand a flag line for the retirement ceremony of LTC Mark F. Kiraly. He has served our country for 31 years. It will be our honor to do so. LTC Kiraly’s military schooling includes the Air Defense Artillery Officer Basic and Advanced Course, Combined Arms Services Staff School, and Command and General Staff College. His previous positions of significant leadership and operational contributions included Chief, Missile Defense Element, Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MIDIOC), Missile Defense Agency (MIDA), U.S. Contingent Commander and Senior Combat Advisor (CA) of Military Advising Team Five (MAT 5), and Commander of the Centennial Training Site Detachment, Colorado Army National Guard. As the senior Chief, Missile Defense Element, 100th Missile Defense Brigade (Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD)), Colorado Army National Guard, Lieutenant Colonel Kiraly positively and directly influenced the strategic defense of the United States by protecting the Nation from ballistic missile attack on a 24-hour operational basis. Lieutenant Colonel Kiraly served a tour as 100th Missile Defense Brigade GMD Lead Evaluator, where he represented the brigade as the senior US Army representative to the Missile Defense Agency, Northern Command, Strategic Command, and the Boeing Corporation. LTC Kiraly currently serves as a Science & Technology Advisor, Assured Position Navigation and Timing Cross Functional Team (A-PNT CFT), US Army Futures Command.LTC Kiraly’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medals, Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medals, Master Space Operations Badge and others.
