ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family of SGT Mark Alday has asked the Patriot Guard Riders to come and stand in honor of their son, brother, husband, father, and friend. Mark served as a gunner during his tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and he served well. Afghanistan Campaign Ribbon with two stars, Iraq Campaign Ribbon with two stars. Global War on Terror Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Combat Infantryman Badge, to name a few. Mark Alday stood for us, in far away and dangerous places, and did so to the very best of his ability. Now, it will be our honor to stand for him.

Special Instructions:

We will stage at the front parking area of Sunbelt Rentals, there will be a brief safety briefing at 1245, if you are not present for the briefing, go directly to the cemetery in Leesburg.
KSU – 1250 for a short ride to the family home, from there we will have LEO lead escort with the family to the cemetery in Leesburg.
Upon arriving at the cemetery, we will stand a silent flag line of honor for the graveside services with military honors.
Coronavirus precaution disclosure:
Please bring a mask and wash hands often, be prepared to follow the guidelines from state and local officials as well as facility or cemetery guidelines to be outlined at the mission briefing.
A general record of attendees will be held by the ride captain for a period not to exceed 2 weeks in the case of the need for contact tracing. If you test positive for COVID-19 within 10 days of attending a mission please contact Ride Captain with that information, your name will NOT be disclosed.
Those who are sick, have a household member or other close contact who is sick should not attend and those who have a higher risk of severe illness should weigh the benefits of in-person attendance against the risk of exposure to a person with COVID-19, especially if recommendations for wearing masks and social distancing may be difficult to follow for themselves or others.

Water will be provided.
