Albanese\, United States Army\, WWII Veteran has requested Patriot Guard Rider presence during his military honors interment services. Judge Albanese passed away at his Gloversville home on January 2\, 2016 with his family by his side.  He was 94 years of age. \nWhen/Where:\nSaturday\, June 11\, 2016 \nJohnstown\, NY \nLRC:\nDan Nolin\ndan1nolin@yahoo.com \nThe Honorable Mario M. Albanese had quite a storied life. On December 17\, 1943\, he was sworn in to the United States Army where he served with H Company of the 315th Regiment\, 79th Army Infantry Division of the 7th Army\, known as Lorraine Cross.  He was an infantryman and mortar man\, serving primarily in France and Germany. He attained the rank of Private First Class during his service and on November 7\, 2014\, was the recipient of the French Legion Medal of Honor\, presented by French President Hollande. Mario was a member of the local VFW Post 2077 in Gloversville and also a member of the Catholic War Veterans. \nIn 1973\, Mario was elected to a 10 year term as Fulton County Judge and Surrogate\, and served special assignments in the Appellate Division\, Supreme and Family Courts. For 6 years Judge Albanese served on the Executive Committee of both the NYS County Judges’ and NYS Surrogate’s Association. Judge Albanese was a 3rd Degree Brother Knight of Council 265 in Gloversville\, and a 4th Degree Sir Knight in Assembly 427. \nThe Patriot Guard Riders are proud to be able to stand and display great dignity\, honor and respect for the life and service of the Honorable Mario M.
