RIDE ITINERARY FROM THE NORTH FOR FRIDAY AM – 21JUN13

MAJOR CHARLES J. KOCH – TOMS RIVER, NJ RIDE CAPTAIN = PAPPY

1) Bergen County Harley/Davidson, Essex Street, Rochelle Park, NJ. KSU = 0715


2)
Brookdale Service Area, Garden State Parkway South, mile marker 153. Riders should meet in the south end of the rest area near the gas station. KSU = 0745


3) 0820 Iselin Rest Area. Garden State Parkway South, mile marker 132. Riders should meet in the south end of the rest area just before the re-entry onto the GSP. This will be a drive through for the most part. We will also be stopping at Cheesquake, so if you miss us, come right down to the rest area. KSU = 815


4) Cheesequake Rest Area, Garden State Parkway South, mile marker 123.6. Riders should meet in the parking lot on the south end of the main building. There will be enough time here for a quick pit stop. KSU = 0830.


5) Monmouth Rest Area, Garden State Parkway South, mile marker 100.5. Riders should meet in the southern parking area at the south end of the main building. We will leave the rest area and head straight to the funeral home in Toms River. KSU = 0900


All times will be adhered to on the route. There might be a little wiggle room, but riders should not plan on it. I generally stay pretty close to the KSU times, so being a little early is not a bad thing. Weather should not be an issue unless you don’t like sunshine. The Major was a 21 year Veteran of the USMC and an OIF Veteran. If you are going to be caging it, bring some water in a cooler in case it starts to get a bit warm. Everyone ride safe and we’ll see you Friday AM.

MAJOR CHARLES KOCH, USMC, OIF VETERAN – TOMS RIVER, NJ 21JUN13

The family of Major Charles Koch, USMC, OIF Veteran, has asked the Patriot Guard Riders to help celebrate his life and service on Friday, 21JUN13 in Toms River, NJ. Major Koch was on leave in Virginia when he passed away. The mission will consist of the following details

1) The PGR will meet the family at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms Rive, NJ 08753. Parking for the bikes will be in the south side lot of the funeral home. The family and Major Koch will leave the funeral home at 1030 for a procession to the church. The PGR will have a flag line at the funeral home (set by 10:00 am) when the family arrives and will man the flag line until the Major is transferred to the vehicle for the escort to the church.

2) Mass will be celebrated at 1100 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 685 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ. The PGR will assemble a flag line upon arrival at the church and stay at the church until the Major is again transferred from the church to the vehicle for the escort to the cemetery.

3) Major Koch will be interred at the Ocean County Memorial Park, 1722 Silverton Road, Toms River, NJ. Major Koch will be buried with full military honors and the PGR will participate in those ceremonies.
