ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family of Lyle E. Waltz has requested the Patriot Guard to stand a silent flag-line at their Hero’s memorial and graveside services. We will be honored to do so. Mr Waltz served in the Navy from July 1948 to July 1952. His decorations include Korean service ribbon and Navy occupation ribbon(Asia). Following his service in the Navy he worked as a Firefighter for 28 years. His work as a Firefighter took him to several Military bases from Indiana to Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama and Florida, where he ended his Fire Fighting career as Assistant Fire Chief at Hurlburt Field, in Florida. After retirement from civil service he worked at Disco Aluminum in Selma until 1986. He then drove a school bus for Dallas county schools for 12 years as well as having a lawn care business. Mr. Waltz was also the church custodian at Memorial United Methodist Church.
