DESCRIPTION:The family of Lt. Col. Benjamin L. “Parky” Parkison\, 96\, Holts Summit\, MO\, request the PGR to stand a flag line for the visitation and funeral. \n\nBenjamin Leroy Parkison\n(1920 – 2016) \n\n\nLt. Col. Benjamin L. “Parky” Parkison\, 96\, Holts Summit\, MO\, a Pearl Harbor survivor.\n\nHe commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in June 1941\, stationed at Hickam Field as a pilot in the US Army Air Corps. He was there during the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7\, 1941. He left Hawaii for stateside in June\, 1942\, also in the Korean War in the 307th Bomb Squadron; retiring in December 1963 as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a bomber pilot\, and flew pilot in command of B-17’s\, B-18’s\, B-24’s\, B-25’s\, B-29’s\, B-36’s\, B-47’s and the last was B-52’s with the Strategic Air Command (SAC) to name a few.  \nFuneral services will be at 2 pm (1400 hrs) on Saturday\, June 25\, 2016 at First Christian Church RR 2\, New Bloomfield\, MO.
