The family of Lt. Col. Benjamin L. “Parky” Parkison, 96, Holts Summit, MO, request the PGR to stand a flag line for the visitation and funeral.

(1920 – 2016)

Lt. Col. Benjamin L. “Parky” Parkison, 96, Holts Summit, MO, a Pearl Harbor survivor.

He commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in June 1941, stationed at Hickam Field as a pilot in the US Army Air Corps. He was there during the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. He left Hawaii for stateside in June, 1942, also in the Korean War in the 307th Bomb Squadron; retiring in December 1963 as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a bomber pilot, and flew pilot in command of B-17’s, B-18’s, B-24’s, B-25’s, B-29’s, B-36’s, B-47’s and the last was B-52’s with the Strategic Air Command (SAC) to name a few.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm (1400 hrs) on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at First Christian Church RR 2, New Bloomfield, MO. Burial will be in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX with full military honors on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 1:30 PM.
Visitation will be from 12 pm-2 pm until time of services at the church in New Bloomfield, Mo
