ABOUT THE MISSION:
DPC Lewis Irby faithfully served his country in the United States Navy for over 21 years and was honorably retired on 31 March 1981. His military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Five Good Conduct Awards, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal (Cuba), Navy Commendation Medal w/Combat V, and the Expert Pistol and Rifleman Medals. Lewis (Jay) Irby aka “Beadman” and his faithful companion Salt, were PGR riders in NWFL for several years until Jay’s health failed. He was easily recognizable on his home-built trikes and his dog, Salt. He was born 16 Apr 1938 and passed from this earth on 11 Feb 2021 at the age of 82. The Patriot Guard will be honored to escort DPC Irby to his final resting place in Barrancas National Cemetery and stand a silent flag line in his honor.
