The family of Lester Maynor has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to stand and honor their Hero, one of the Greatest Generation. Born October 6, 1919, Lester was proudly one of the “Greatest Generation”. Lester served as a Tech 5 (Army Scout) for the Headquarters Company 20th Infantry Division from June 18, 1941 until discharge on October 25, 1945. He fought for his country’s freedom in World War II’s Asiatic Pacific Campaign, seeing battle in both the Philippines – Lingayen Gulf, and New Guinea – Luzon. For his service, Lester earned 2 Bronze Stars, a Bronze Arrowhead, a Purple Heart, the American Defense Service Medal, and the Asiatic Pacific Operations Medal. 3 Children, 5 Grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
