Keola served in the Oregon Army National Guard as a 92G Food Service Specialist. On 10 February 2003 he was called up to Active Duty for Service in Iraq. SPC (E4) Ing was released from Active duty on 4 May 2004. He earned the Army Commendation Medal\, the National Defense Service Medal\, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal\, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal\, The Iraq Service Medal\, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/M device\, the Army Service Ribbon\, the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Overseas Service Bar (2nd Award).
