ABOUT THE MISSION:
The Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to stand the line for NAVY Veteran LeRoy Thomas Himes, age 71, of Hood River, Oregon. Mr Himes served 7 years and 1 Month entering the Service on July 3, 1969. He received the Navy Conduct Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal w/Combat “V”, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon, a Rifle Sharpshooter Ribbon, and a Pistol Marksman Ribbon. His primary Specialty was HT-4962 Damage Controlman (Qualified) and his secondary specialty 9534 Fast Patrol Boat (PTF). Mr Himes was a Seal. It is espcially noted that LeRoy Himes completed a 24 week course of instruction in Naval Logistics including pre-overseas departure, Drug orientation, pacification, operations, one week survival, evasion, resistance to interrogation and escape training. Six weeks Vietnamese Language, Six weeks human response training, water survival, first aid, radio-telephone procedures, communications security, weapons indoctrination, logistics, tactics, on the job training and advanced operational and environmental training.
