ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family and loved ones of hero SP4 Leroy Walters have honored the Patriot Guard Riders with a request to stand a flag line at his service and then to escort their loved one to his final resting place, where full military honors will be rendered. Hero Walters married his high school sweetheart, Verma June Jones who survives him as well as a brother, three sisters and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, many neighbors and friends. Hero Walters worked for several soft drink bottling companies after his service as well as the Caterpillar Tractor Co. of Joliet, IL, retiring with 30 years of service. He was an avid antique car collector and loved to travel and camp. He moved back to Springfield after retirement.
