ABOUT THE MISSION:
Leo Szczepanski was a United States Army veteran. He proudly served his country in the from 1943 to 1946. Leo was an Army surgical technician. He was stationed in Germany during heavy fighting. His training was put to the test when a fallen soldier had his leg blown off. Leo was able to save the soldiers life by knowing what to do. As he finished he heard more shouting and he was needed to then save five more wounded soldiers a short distance away. We have truly lost another American hero of the Greatest Generation. Leo Szczepanski was released from active duty and honorably discharged in March 1946. While in the service of his country Leo Szczepanski earned the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Campaign Ribbon, and the WWII Victory Medal.
