The family of World War II veteran Leo Kunz has asked the Patriot Guard to assist in all aspects of their loved one’s final journey on this earth. Leo served with the US Army from Oct of 1941 until honorably discharged in July of 1945. Leo was assigned to the 1st Armored Division during the North African invasion and occupation. He was a skilled repairman of tanks, half-tracks, trucks and artillery. Leo also served in Europe after the invasion of Italy. Full military rites will be accorded at the cemetery by the Collinsville VFW Honor Guard.

VISITATION AND FUNERAL SERVICE

Date: Mon, 23 May 16
Time: 1000 – 1200 hrs (10 am-12 pm)

Place: Herr Funeral Home
501 W Main
Collinsville, IL

Staging: 0830 hrs (8:30 am) at the funeral home.
Line up for escort as per RC instructions.
Flag line in place prior to family arrival at 9 am.

Following the funeral service we will escort family and friends to Sunset Hills Cemetery in Glen Carbon (about 10 mi) for Leo’s interment.
Please remember to hydrate the day before and the day of the mission. Water will be supplied at the mission location.
