Lance Cpl. Cody S. Childers, 19, of Chesapeake, Va., died Aug. 20 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
He is to be laid to his final Hero’s rest on the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) on 31 August, 2010 at approximately 1300 hours from the ANC Administration building.
PGR will stage off-site, join the procession as it moves to graveside, where we will render Honors for Cody, and his family, friends and comrades in arms.
31 AUG 10 Mission Plan:


Stage: 1145 hrs Iwo Jima Memorial (Marine Corps War Memorial)
Brief: 1200 hrs
Transit: 1215 hrs to ANC Admin Bldg
Honors: 1300 hrs Graveside ANC (time approx.)

Iron Horses preferred, cages welcome as always.
Mounted large flags preferred for transit (furl upon ANC parking).
Large hand-held flags NOT used in ANC for graveside services.
Military mandated ID / gear NOT required for this mission.

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
