Spettel served in the United States Marine Corps for four years\, from April 1953 to April 1957. He earned the following awards during his service: Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.\nHonors will be at Barrancas National Cemetery\, at 2:00 PM.
