The family of Lawrence Cook and Dignity Memorial Network has requested the Patriot Guard Riders man a flag line during the service at his final resting place at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery on the Post. Although Seaman Apprentice Cook was homeless, his wife and son will be in attendance at the service. Mr. Cook was once assigned to the USS Hassayampa, a Naval Fleet Oiler.
Dignity Memorial Network takes care of homeless veterans.
Staging:
1300 hrs. (1:00 pm) – Stage at Committal Shelter at Fort Leavenworth Cemetery on Post, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas
1310 hrs. (1:10 pm) – Man Flag Line
1330 hrs. (1:20 pm) – Service
This mission is a flagline only ON Post so all safety equipment is required if you plan to ride.
Safety equipment includes: DOT approved helmet, full-finger gloves, long sleeves, over the ankle boots and reflective vest or sash. The reflective gear may or may not be required, but better safe than sorry. Also plan on some extra time to get through the gate.
