Lavelle Cummings Kendrick, Retired

ABOUT THE MISSION:
Lavelle Kendrick was a United States Navy Veteran. He joined the Navy at age 15 in 1944 and served on a PT Boat in the Solomon Islands. Following World War 2, he transitioned to submarines. He attended countless schools and eventually was Chief Engine man. He also served as an instructor. He retired after 28 years of service to our Country.
He has the following awards. Silver Star, Bronze Star w/”V” Valor Device, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, China Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, 9th Award. Chief Petty Officer Kendrick will be Honored at the National Cemetery in Phoenix along with is wife of 69 years, Janet.
