ABOUT THE MISSION:

Mr. Wood served almost 8 years in the US Army and was a Staff Sergeant when discharged. His job specialty was as a Construction Machine Supervisor and Foreman with one tour of duty in Vietnam. His awards included National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Meal w/2 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, Overseas Service Bar, Expert (M-14), Expert (M-16), 2 Service Stripes, Good Conduct Medal (2 awards), Army Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/Palm.

Special Instructions:

Funeral Service and Procession Starting Time 2pm A mission briefing will be held, and the riders will establish the Flag Line for the funeral service. When the service begins, flags will be returned to the support vehicle to relocate to the interment site detailed in Part 2 of this mission. Riders participating in the procession will receive a briefing and ready the bikes to accompany Mr. Wood, family and friends in the procession to the interment site.Note: The RC will make the determination of whether to participate in the procession at the service depending on the weather.
