Kevin served in the Oregon Army National Guard from 1985 to 2001 as an 11B Infantryman. He then transferred to Active Duty from 2002 to 2011 when he was Retired at the rank of SFC (E7). During his long years of Service\, he participated in the basic winter operation course\, the combat engineer course\, the medical specialist course\, the unit clerk course\, the unit supply course\, and the ground reconnaissance course as well as the scout/sniper training school and the small arms instructor and range operations course. Kevin earned the Excellence In Competition Badge\, the Iraq Campaign Medal w/2 bronze service stars\, the Army Commendation Award (2nd Award)\, the Army Achievement Medal (5th Award)\, the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (7th Award)\, the National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award)\, the Global War on Terrorism Medal\, the Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (2nd Award)\, the army Service Ribbon\, the Overseas Service Ribbon\, the Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon (2nd Award) the Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/ M & 20 device\, the Combat Infantryman Badge\, the Distinguished Rifleman Badge and the Excellence in Competition Pistol Shot Badge.
