ABOUT THE MISSION:
It is a most distinct honor and privilege for the Patriot Guard Riders, at the family’s request, to stand a flag line of honor and respect for United States Navy veteran Kermit G. Reed Jr., and escort him to the hallowed grounds of Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery where he will receive full military honors. AZ3 Reed proudly served his country from November 1966 to August 1969 and was a member of Fighter Squadron Twenty One. His awards include the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device.
