The family of WWII Veteran Kenneth M. Leland, 88, has requested the Patriot Guard Riders participate in his funeral service at 11am on Thursday morning at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont Nebraska. Burial with military honors will be in Wisner Ne, later in the day.
He served in the United States Army from May of 1943 to November of 1945. He had been awarded the Purple Heart with One Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster and the Good Conduct Medal. He saw action in Southern France and the Rhineland and was wounded in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater. Following his discharge, he returned to the Norfolk area.
The PGR will provide a Flag Line at the 11am service at Salem Lutheran Church, 401 E. Military, Fremont, Ne. There is no plan for an escort for the burial which will be four hours later in Wisner, Ne.
