ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family SFC Kenneth E. Jarvis has requested our presence to stand for their loved one.  Serving 7 years in the US Air Force, serving a tour in Vietnam, SFC Jarvis later joined the US Army, and served for 15 years.
He was Senior Service Officer For Pitt County DAV Chapter 37.; Greenville, NC., prior to his health failure.
He was a loyal, dedicated, and dependable man.  SFC Jarvis will be missed dearly.

Special Instructions:

We will escort SFC Jarvis to his final resting place at Arlington National Cemetery.  Our escort will depart and join the VA PGR, where they will take over the escort to Arlington.  Currently only immediate family are allowed to be present for the internment services at Arlington.  PGR is not permitted to Stand in Honor due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  All are welcome to join the escort, all the way to Arlington or to any of the stops along the way in VA.  Maintain social distancing during briefings and flag-lines, as outlined by the CDC and the governor’s guidelines.  Face coverings are recommended and social distancing from non-household members is required.  Just because you are comfortable touching and being near other people, that does not mean that the other person is comfortable or safe with the contact.  Stay at least forty feet away from the family and funeral tent.  If you have exhibited any symptoms associated with this virus in the past 14 days, please reconsider your attendance.  Each member is responsible for his or her own safety and health during the mission.  The PGR assumes no responsibility for your well being.  There will be no flag-lines at funeral home or church visitations.  The Ride Captain will not provide hand sanitizer.  Ride safe, stay safe, stay healthy.
