Karsten “Soupy” Vollstedt, age 70, of Appleton passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on October 5, 2018.  Mr. Vollstedt was born September 30, 1948 in Appleton, Wisconsin, the son of the late Otto & Martha Vollstedt.  After he graduated from Appleton West High School in 1967 (where he got the nickname Soupy as a superstar in basketball), he served his country in the U.S. Army as a helicopter crew chief in Vietnam.
